A bit about me and how I got started

I randomly stumbled into the world of web and graphic design and I am so glad I did. The first website I designed was for a video game group in NBA2K. I had a great time working on the site and later realized web design was a real job that paid well and was something I enjoyed doing.

I was halfway through my second year of college studying Accounting and Finance when I came to a realization that working a regular office job for the rest of my life was not a lifestyle I desired. That’s when I proudly dropped out of college. Taking some time off to relax and adjust to not being in school after never taking a break since I was 4 years old was much needed. It felt really weird not being in the school system while all of my friends were. I began focusing on my web design work. I also started flipping (buying and selling) car parts and tools, tires, clothes and random collectibles online to make some extra cash on the side.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset. When I was 15, I was flipping iPhone cases, chargers and keychains. I’d buy them off of AliExpress for less than $1, and sell them on Kijiji for over $10. It wasn’t a lot of money but the job was much more rewarding than slaving away at a fast food restaurant. From there, I fell in love with the feeling of making money my own way and directly benefiting from the hard work that I put in.

That leaves me with where I am now with a handful of websites and graphic design projects under my belt. It has been a great experience so far and I can’t wait to take it further. Now there’s a little story on how I got to where I am and I hope it inspires others to take control of their future career, or encourages you to work with a budding designer like myself.

Take care,
Daniel
